Overview
About Cinnamon
Sri Lankan or “True Cinnamon” is the dried inner stem bark of Cinnamomum Verum, harvested when the bushes are about two years old. It thrives in Sri Lanka’s central hills across semi-dry to wet zones, at 300–350 m above sea level, with ideal temperatures of 20–30°C.
Applications & Uses
A delicately fragrant, warm-tasting spice used as quills or powder to flavour confectionery, liquors, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Bark oil is antifungal; leaf oil is prized in perfumery. Commercial forms include quills, quillings, featherings, chips and oils.
