Overview
About Fennel
A biennial, aromatic plant 1.5–1.8 m high whose ripe fruit is small, oblong and greenish-yellow with an agreeable aroma. Native to Europe and Asia Minor, it is cultivated extensively across Northern India as a cold-weather crop.
Applications & Uses
Leaves garnish and feature in salads; seeds are essential in Italian sausages and pizza. The fragrant dried fruits flavour soups, meat dishes, sauces, pastries, confectionery and liquors, and act as a stimulant and carminative.
